What you'll be doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data and database solutions, focusing on performance, scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, database structures, and data processing logic to support high-performance applications and data workloads.
  • Design and maintain data models and database schemas, ensuring efficient storage, access, and processing of data.
  • Analyze and optimize database performance, including queries, execution plans, indexing strategies, and data access patterns.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and integration workflows across different systems and data sources.
  • Work with Azure data and database services to develop scalable cloud-based data solutions and integrations.
  • Support the design and evolution of cloud data architectures, ensuring high availability, security, and efficient data processing.
  • Troubleshoot complex database and data-related performance issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and appropriate access controls across data platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, architects, developers, and other technical teams to design and implement effective data solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including database designs, data models, integration specifications, and operational guidelines.
  • Work within Agile Scrum teams, contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence.

What you'll bring along

  • Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Database Engineering, Data Engineering, or similar data-focused roles.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, database architecture, data modeling, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other enterprise relational database technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Azure Databricks and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Experience designing and maintaining high-performance and scalable database and data solutions.
  • Experience with data pipelines, data integration, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Good understanding of data security, access management, data integrity, and high-availability concepts.
  • Experience analyzing execution plans and troubleshooting complex database and data-processing issues.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with architects, developers, and data engineering teams.
  • A great teammate who thrives in a collaborative and Agile environment.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
  • Experience with Oracle Database and PL/SQL is nice to have
  • Experience with Python for data processing, scripting, or automation is nice to have
  • Experience with database and data pipeline monitoring and automation tools is nice to have
  • Exposure to data architecture, cloud migration, or large-scale enterprise data platforms is nice to have
