Job Overview
Senior Data Engineer in Schneider Electric’s AI Solutions team will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced data processing applications within the Energy Management and Industrial Automation domains. These applications provide data for AI solutions such as energy optimization, condition monitoring, diagnosis of electrical distribution devices and industrial machines, and digital twin design and operation.
Responsibilities
- The analysis of complex data processing use cases and corresponding data.
- The specification, design, implementation, testing, validation, and industrialization of advanced data management functions to be incorporated in products, systems and solutions.
- Contributions to state‑of‑the‑art monitoring (literature and patent review, trend analysis, startup evaluation), technological watch, and experimentation of new technologies, tools and processes to improve products, services and development practices within the company.
- Contributions to the identification and evaluation of potential external partners.
- Contributions to intellectual property protection, capitalization of knowledge, and internal and external communication.
Qualifications
- Master or PhD or equivalent diploma in Computer Science with a minimum of 2/3 years of experience in Data Engineering (processing, pipelines, etc).
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, PySpark, SQL/NoSQL, ETL/ELT.
- Experience with public cloud services: Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Databricks, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenDataSof t (asset).
- AI exposure (data science, machine learning, MLOps) and background in big data, data analysis, data visualisation (asset).
- Software engineering skills: coding, debugging, testing (unit, functional, integration) and troubleshooting throughout the application development process in an agile mode.
- Knowledge of other programming languages (Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, R, Matlab) is an asset.
- Ideally, knowledge of Energy Management and Automation markets.
