Salary: $130.00 - $160.00 p.h.
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Data Engineer to design, build and operationalise enterprise-grade data platforms across Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
This hands-on role will lead end-to-end data pipeline development, platform integration, governance and analytics delivery. You will work extensively with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Dynamics 365, Power BI, Microsoft Purview and Azure DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabric and medallion architecture.
- Build data ingestion and orchestration pipelines using Fabric Data Factory and Azure Data Factory.
- Develop PySpark, Python and SQL solutions for large-scale data transformation.
- Manage OneLake, Delta Lake optimisation, partitioning and schema evolution.
- Integrate Dynamics 365 data, including Dataverse, Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement.
- Implement Synapse Link, OData APIs, virtual tables and event-based integration patterns.
- Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, source control and automated testing.
- Automate Azure infrastructure provisioning using Bicep or Terraform.
- Configure Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing, lineage, classification and governance.
- Build and optimise Power BI semantic models, DAX measures and DirectLake analytics.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver governed, user-friendly data solutions.
Essential Experience
- 10+ years of enterprise data engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise across Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Spark and Power BI.
- Proven experience with Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in PySpark, Python and SQL.
- In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 data structures and the Dataverse entity model.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps.
- Practical experience with Git, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of data modelling principles, including star schemas, slowly changing dimensions and medallion architecture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience integrating legacy ERP or CRM systems into cloud-native platforms.
- Exposure to SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, REST APIs, SFTP and heterogeneous data sources.
- Experience with Fabric Data Science, MLflow, feature engineering or ML operationalisation.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications across Fabric, Power BI, Azure, Purview, DevOps or Dynamics 365
