Senior Data Engineer

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a 6-12 month onsite assignment in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a leading global IT services company working for a major automotive client.

About the role

You will build and maintain data products and pipelines, with a strong focus on data quality, reliability, privacy compliance and high system uptime, supporting data-driven insights and decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Build, run and improve data pipelines through automation, scalability and performance enhancements
• Ensure data quality, accuracy and reliability across all data solutions
• Monitor pipeline performance and quickly resolve issues to minimise downtime
• Implement testing, validation and monitoring processes
• Work with privacy, legal and security teams to ensure data is handled according to regulations
• Collaborate with analytics, product and engineering teams to deliver business-ready datasets
• Maintain clear documentation of data flows, architectures and privacy processes

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably with large-scale or sensor-based data
• Strong SQL and at least one of Python, Scala or Java
• Hands-on experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure, AWS or GCP
• Understanding of data privacy principles and experience delivering compliant data solutions
• Strong focus on data quality, monitoring and operational reliability

Nice to have

• GDPR and data governance experience
• Airflow, Databricks or Grafana
• Kafka or other streaming technologies

• Employment: contract on Ampstek payroll
