Senior Data Engineer

Salary: £37,000 - 68,500 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience in data engineering and modern data platforms.
• Advanced programming skills in Java or Python.
• Expertise working with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink or similar distributed data frameworks.
• Experience delivering solutions within AWS or other major cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, scalability and performance optimisation.
• Experience working with containerisation, Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment approaches.
• Ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience supporting or leading technical teams within complex delivery environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver scalable data platforms and engineering solutions.
• Lead the development of batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Drive best practice across data architecture, engineering standards and governance.
• Work with cloud-native technologies to develop high-performing data solutions.
• Support DevOps adoption, automation and CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders across multiple projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability development.
• Support technical decision-making and solution design activities.
