Senior Data Engineer

Salary: Attractive hourly rate

We're partnering with a well-known organisation embarking on Phase 2 of a major Microsoft Dynamics transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join the project team on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in designing and delivering modern data solutions that support the next phase of the organisation's Dynamics ecosystem, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and Azure data technologies.

The Opportunity

Working alongside business, application and project teams, you will be responsible for building and optimising data pipelines, integrating multiple data sources, and enabling robust reporting and analytics capabilities across the Dynamics environment.

You'll be joining a collaborative delivery team focused on creating scalable, secure and high-performing data platforms to support business-critical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Build and optimise solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks
• Integrate data from Microsoft Dynamics and other enterprise applications
• Develop data models and frameworks that support reporting and analytics requirements
• Ensure high levels of data quality, governance and performance
• Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts and stakeholders across the programme
• Support deployment, testing and ongoing optimisation of data solutions

Skills & Experience needed

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer within enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Commercial experience with Azure Databricks
• Experience working on Microsoft Dynamics implementation or transformation projects
• Strong SQL and data modelling expertise
• Experience building data integration and transformation solutions within Azure
• Understanding of modern data architecture, governance and best practices
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Dynamics 365 (Customer Engagement, Finance & Operations or related modules)
• Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics or Power BI exposure
