Summary
Senior/Lead Data Engineer at a Cape Town beverage bottling and distribution company: building scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance, and deepening the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, T-SQL) while leading and mentoring the data team. Hybrid, 3 days per week in Parow Industrial.

About the Role:
The Lead Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping our clients data landscape. You will develop and optimise scalable data pipelines, uphold high data quality, and manage robust data infrastructure to deliver reliable, efficient and cost-effective data solutions.
This junior leadership role translates stakeholder needs into practical data solutions that enable analytics, supports business and technology strategies, and drives the evolution of the data engineering function. You will also mentor team members and ensure strong alignment with organisational goals, data integrity, system performance and governance standards.

What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Management or a specialised related field
Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ Business Analysis or related technical experience
- In-depth knowledge of the industry and solid business experience
- Proven experience leading teams
- Strategic and critical thinking
- Proficiency in ELT/ETL tools
- Strong data modelling and architecture skills
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration
Deep expertise with MS SQL Server applications and BI tools, including:
- Analysis Services
- Reporting Services
- Integration Services
- T-SQL
- Data Mining
- Performance tuning
- Query optimisation
What's On Offer?
- Salary: R72,000 per month
