Senior Data Engineer, Compliance Data Platform

Summary

Build and own end-to-end data pipelines for compliance systems (TMS, KYC/EDD, CMS, regulatory reporting) using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools to support global financial crime monitoring.

About the team

The Legal, Compliance & Finance Data Team builds the data infrastructure powering the company's compliance operations globally — TMS, KYC/EDD, CMS, and regulatory reporting across 100+ markets. The compliance data domain is broad but learnable. We expect senior engineers to build deep domain knowledge quickly using AI tooling and structured onboarding.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work as a core execution partner to our Compliance Projects. This is a hands‑on technical role with real domain ownership — you will own sub‑domains end‑to‑end, not just execute tickets. Strong performance creates a direct route toward the Compliance domain's technical leadership layer as the team scales.

Responsibilities:

Pipeline Ownership: Own end-to-end pipelines from ODS ingestion through CDM to downstream marts serving TMS, KYC, CMS, and regulatory reporting. Design, build, and maintain production‑grade pipelines with reliability, auditability, and regulatory correctness as first‑class requirements.

Full-Stack Compliance Coverage:

  • TMS: transaction monitoring feeds, rule feature engineering, Scila/TME platform data integration, TME/ARS features
  • KYC/CRR/EDD: KYC refresh pipelines, remediation datasets, CRR scoring features, Worldcheck integration
  • CMS: case management data, transaction analysis tooling, bulk search, KYB operation data
  • Regulatory reporting: recurring compliance reports for global and jurisdiction‑specific requirements

Data Quality: Design proactive DQC checks into pipelines. Own monitoring and reconciliation; build alerting that catches issues before downstream systems or regulators do.

AI‑Accelerated Domain Building: Use AI tooling actively to ramp on compliance domain knowledge. Apply LLM‑assisted development to accelerate pipeline development, DQC design, and documentation.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Compliance Project Lead as a trusted technical partner — take sub‑domain ownership to expand his effective bandwidth. Mentor junior engineers as your domain confidence grows.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years in data engineering with strong production pipeline experience (ETL/ELT, SQL, Python, orchestration)
  • Demonstrated ability to own a data domain end‑to‑end — business logic, quality, and incident handling
  • Strong data modelling skills for compliance or financial data (auditability, lineage, immutability)
  • Fast domain learner with evidence — can point to a time they ramped up in an unfamiliar domain quickly, ideally using AI tooling
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity: turns underspecified compliance requirements into scoped engineering tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in compliance, AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, or financial crime data domains
  • Background in crypto, fintech, or regulated financial services
  • Familiarity with Scila, Unit
