Senior Data Engineer Consultant

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer who combines strong engineering depth with the ability to operate confidently in a consulting environment.
This is not just a hands-on build role. You’ll be expected to understand the client problem, shape the solution, make sound technical decisions and help lift the capability of the people around you.
You’ll work across modern data platforms, cloud environments and large-scale transformation projects, with the opportunity to move between clients, industries and technologies.
What you’ll be doing

• Architecting and building complex, scalable data pipelines
• Designing modern data platforms and cloud-based solutions
• Working hands-on across Python, SQL, Spark / PySpark and Databricks
• Leading technical design and contributing to architecture decisions
• Conducting code reviews and mentoring engineers
• Working directly with clients to understand problems and shape practical solutions
• Driving secure, resilient and cost-effective engineering outcomes

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years’ experience across Data Engineering or Software Engineering
• Strong Python and SQL
• Databricks and Spark / PySpark
• Git, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
• Experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
• Consulting or highly client-facing delivery experience
• Strong communication, commercial judgement and high EQ
• Ability to work at pace and adapt quickly across changing environments
• Relevant technical degree

The Senior role is specifically positioned as the lead builder and technical mentor, with responsibility across architecture, code quality, mentoring and end-to-end delivery.
