Salary: $8,500 – $10,000 per month

About the Role

Join a specialised digital health research team developing technology and data capabilities for wearable sensor and digital health studies.

You will take ownership of the data journey from study design and data collection through to processing, quality validation, analysis-ready datasets and digital measures. Working closely with scientists, clinical teams, data specialists and technology partners, you will build scalable data solutions while applying advanced analytics, algorithms and AI to generate meaningful insights from digital health data.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with digital health and clinical study teams from the early stages of study design to define data requirements, collection approaches and technical solutions

  • Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for wearable sensor and digital health data

  • Own the end-to-end flow of data from collection and ingestion through processing, transformation, quality checks and delivery of analysis-ready datasets

  • Establish robust approaches for data storage, retrieval, interchange, delivery, archiving and representation

  • Develop automated data quality checks, monitoring and reporting to identify issues early and support root-cause analysis

  • Ensure data and pipeline outputs are properly documented, traceable, reproducible and suitable for research and audit requirements

  • Work with high-frequency and time-series sensor data, including physiological signals from wearable devices

  • Develop and test algorithms and digital measures using statistical, machine learning and deep learning approaches

  • Apply data analysis techniques to identify trends, issues and insights from digital health and clinical study data

  • Support the development and integration of AI, Generative AI and LLM capabilities into digital health data platforms and research workflows

  • Develop and maintain APIs, internal platforms and technical tools that enable access to curated datasets and AI-driven outputs

  • Work with cloud-based compute, databases and data infrastructure supporting digital health research and machine learning

  • Partner closely with data scientists, statisticians, clinical teams, researchers and external technology providers to deliver digital health outcomes

  • Troubleshoot data, device and pipeline issues and coordinate solutions across internal and external stakeholders

  • Identify opportunities to improve data processing, automation, scalability, integrity and quality

  • Contribute to digital health research, technical publications, internal knowledge sharing and external presentations where appropriate

  • Stay current with emerging developments in wearable technology, sensor analytics, data engineering and AI

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor/ Master/ PhD in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Informatics or a related technical discipline

  • 5 - 8 years of relevant working experience in data engineering, data science, software development, machine learning or a related technical field

  • Strong hands-on programming skills in Python and SQL, with proven experience developing and maintaining production-grade data pipelines

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, databases and data processing principles

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP

  • Proven experience implementing data quality, validation and monitoring frameworks for large or complex datasets

  • Strong understanding of software development practices, data structures and algorithms

  • Experience working with wearable sensor data, time-series data, physiological signals or other high-frequency data streams

  • Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, statistical analysis or algorithm development

  • Experience translating complex data into actionable insights and recommendations

  • Strong understanding of data governance, traceability, reproducibility and data standards

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across technical, scientific and business functions

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
