Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will build and maintain the AWS and Snowflake data platform to support generative AI features and analytics for life sciences software. The role involves designing data pipelines, implementing data governance, and mentoring team members in a distributed global environment.
Salary: Up to $130,000 p/a + extra leave

Due to an internal promotion, we’re hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help lead out on our Data Engineering program as part of the AI Technology team.
Docuvera is building products where generative AI and analytics work in the real world, so you’ll build the AWS and Snowflake data platform and the standards behind it, powering our natural language and GenAI features and improving reporting and analytics across the business, shipping for international customers securely and at scale.

What your day might look like
Own the data platform on AWS and Snowflake (S3/Kinesis/Glue, dbt, Step Functions)
Build batch and streaming ingestion using Apache Iceberg on S3, exposed into Snowflake
Build ML/GenAI data infrastructure: feature pipelines/store, SageMaker integration, embeddings + vector storage for RAG
Implement data quality, observability, and root-cause fixes
Own security + governance (GDPR, residency, IAM, secrets, row/column controls)
Establish standards, mentor engineers, and improve CI/CD + IaC
Model data in Snowflake using Kimball principles

The capabilities you’ll bring
Strong AWS (S3, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, SQS, IAM, CloudWatch)
Deep Snowflake (performance, streams/tasks, security controls)
Iceberg on S3 and Snowflake integration experience
Advanced SQL and strong dbt/ELT and streaming/batch delivery patterns
Kimball dimensional modelling expertise
IaC/CI/CD (Terraform or CDK) and data observability tooling familiarity
Experience supporting ML/GenAI data needs (feature stores, embeddings, SageMaker, RAG)
Comfortable leading, mentoring, and communicating trade-offs clearly
