Position Overview
We are seeking Intermediate and Senior Data Engineers to support Azure data engineering, analytics, and enterprise data integration initiatives within the Government of Alberta.
Intermediate Data Engineer – Required Experience
- 1 year of experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Workflows, Jobs and Notebooks.
- 3 years of experience designing analytics-ready datasets, semantic layers, data marts and data products.
- 2 years of experience in data governance, security and metadata management.
- 4 years of experience with Git/GitHub version control.
- 3 years of experience with Azure services, including Storage and Synapse.
- 5 years of experience with Python/PySpark and SQL for enterprise ETL/ELT workflows.
- 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, automation and productivity.
Senior Data Engineer – Required Experience
- 3 years of experience developing enterprise integration solutions using Talend Studio.
- 5 years of experience administering Talend Management Console (TMC) or Talend Administration Center (TAC).
- 3 years of experience supporting Talend Remote Engines, Job Servers and runtime infrastructure.
- 2 years of experience providing production support, incident management and root-cause analysis.
- 4 years of experience with Git-based SDLC, CI/CD, code reviews, testing and release management.
- 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, automation and productivity.
Shared Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in business requirement analysis, data transformation, cleansing and wrangling.
- 6 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, database design and optimization.
- 2 years of experience building scalable ETL pipelines using Talend.
- 3 years of experience building secure RESTful APIs.
- 3 years of experience with message queuing technologies such as ActiveMQ and Azure Service Bus.
- 1 year of experience integrating ServiceNow with Azure-based Data Management Platforms.
