Senior Data Engineer - Elasticsearch
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data integration and migration solutions across multiple enterprise systems.
- Analyze source and target data structures to define data mapping, transformation, and migration requirements.
- Design, optimize, and maintain Elasticsearch indices to support high-performance search and retrieval capabilities.
- Monitor and tune Elasticsearch clusters, queries, and indexing processes to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects in Microsoft SQL Server and MariaDB environments.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes to support data movement, transformation, and synchronization activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, application teams, and architects to understand data requirements and define technical solutions.
- Create and maintain logical and physical data models that support business and application needs.
- Troubleshoot data quality, performance, and integration issues across distributed systems.
- Develop software components and integration services using Java, TypeScript, or C# as required.
- Support large-scale data migration initiatives, including data validation, reconciliation, and cutover activities.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide recommendations for scalable and maintainable data solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD, testing, deployment, and operational support activities for data platforms and integration services.
- Document technical designs, data flows, migration approaches, and operational procedures.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and adherence to enterprise data standards.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, or related software engineering roles.
- Strong experience with data mapping, data migration, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch index design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong experience working with SQL databases, particularly:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- MariaDB
- Software engineering experience using one or more of:
- Java
- TypeScript
- C#
- Strong SQL development skills, including query optimization and database design.
- Experience designing scalable and maintainable data solutions in enterprise environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with data pipeline and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Data Factory, or similar.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and modern data architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to Kafka, event-driven architectures, or real-time data processing.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with large-scale data migration programs.
- Knowledge of search platforms and information retrieval systems.
- Experience supporting AI/ML data platforms.
- Previous experience in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
