Senior Data Engineer (Financial Services)
Summary
Senior data engineer working onsite in Central London for a financial services environment, building and maintaining data solutions, reports and data-quality improvements to support decision-making. Core stack is SQL with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS and Power BI; Python, VBA and Power Automate are pluses.
In this role you will design and maintain data solutions to support decision-making in a financial services environment. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and IT to improve reporting and data quality, tackling technical challenges with ownership and initiative. The position blends data development, reporting, and process improvement to deliver tangible impact. You will work in Central London within a team focused on data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain data solutions to support reporting and decision-making
- Improve data quality and resolve technical challenges
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT to understand requirements
- Engage in data development, reporting, and process improvement
- Provide technical support and take ownership of outcomes
- Contribute to regulatory understanding and risk-aware data practices (where applicable)
- At least 3 years’ experience in data engineering, database development, or similar data-focused role
- Strong SQL skills; experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS
- Experience with Power BI; Python, VBA and Power Automate advantageous
