Senior Data Engineer
Summary
Senior Data Engineer in Singapore who designs, builds, and scales enterprise data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines (batch and streaming), and drives data quality, governance, and DataOps/CI-CD. Core stack includes Python/Scala/Java, SQL, and cloud platforms like AWS (Glue, Redshift), Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure, with AI/ML and LLM exposure as a plus.
What you will be working on
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise data platforms and pipelines. You will shape data architecture, drive data integration and quality, and develop scalable solutions to support analytics, business decisions, and AI-enabled applications.
Design data architectures, data models, and scalable data pipelines using ETL/ELT, APIs, and batch or streaming integrations.
Build and maintain data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data integration frameworks.
Develop data products, analytics workflows, and AI-enabled solutions using machine learning and LLM technologies where relevant.
Optimise pipeline performance, data quality, reliability, and system scalability.
Implement DataOps practices, automation, monitoring, and CI/CD for data pipelines.
Establish data governance, security, privacy, and quality standards.
Work closely with product, engineering, business, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Lead technical discussions, review architectures, mentor engineers, and drive delivery best practices.
What we are looking for
At least 7-8 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or building enterprise data platforms.
Strong data modelling skills across OLTP, OLAP, and dimensional modelling.
Experience with cloud data platforms and services such as AWS, Glue, Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or Azure.
Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java, with experience in SQL and ETL/ELT development.
Familiarity with data lakes, data warehouses, APIs, streaming, CDC, or message queues.
Experience with CI/CD, DataOps, data observability, and automated data quality checks.
Understanding of AI/ML and LLM-based applications or MLOps is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to take ownership of complex technical assignments and work effectively across teams.
Good to have: Experience in large-scale platform modernisation, complex data integrations, and AI-enabled data solutions.
