Senior Data Engineer builds and optimizes Snowflake-based data pipelines and ETL processes, leads data governance, and mentors teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions for analytics and business reporting.

Join our Data Products Team to build and shape the future of our enterprise data platform and data governance capabilities. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will combine deep technical expertise with leadership and stakeholder engagement to deliver scalable data solutions that drive business value. You will play a key role in establishing data governance practices, mentoring colleagues, and guiding business stakeholders towards effective data-driven decision-making.

Job Description

  • Design and optimise scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Snowflake, ensuring reliable, high-quality data for analytics and business reporting.
  • Take a leading technical role in advancing our data governance capabilities, promoting best practices for data quality or master data management.
  • Collaborate with data architects, product managers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver sustainable data solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Coach and support business users and data owners in adopting data governance principles and leveraging enterprise data effectively.
  • Mentor fellow data engineers, foster technical excellence, and drive continuous improvement across data platforms, processes, and standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, data modelling, and modern data platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing data solutions.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, and Azure, combined with a solid understanding of data warehousing and cloud architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and enterprise data management practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, coaching, and mentoring skills, with fluent English; German is an advantage.
