Senior Data Engineer

Contract for 12 months + potential to extend | Hybrid (Newstead + WFH) / Daily market rates

Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland organisation to recruit a Senior Data Engineer for an initial 12-month contract+ potential to extend.

You'll join an established enterprise data team responsible for a modern Databricks Lakehouse platform supporting reporting, analytics and data driven decision making across the organisation.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable data pipelines, curated data assets and reusable engineering solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

What you'll be doing

• Develop data ingestion, transformation and orchestration solutions using Databricks
• Build curated data assets for reporting and analytics
• Develop and optimise SQL, Python and PySpark solutions
• Contribute to reusable engineering frameworks and patterns
• Support CI/CD, automated deployments, testing and code management
• Work across enterprise data sources and project driven requirements

What we're looking for

• 5 plus years Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or Analytics Engineering experience
• 3 plus years hands on Databricks experience
• Strong SQL, Python and PySpark
• Cloud based data pipeline and orchestration experience
• Data modelling and curated data asset delivery
• CI/CD and source control experience
• AWS experience highly regarded
• Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, Databricks Workflows or Asset Bundles highly regarded
• Fivetran or similar integration tooling highly regarded

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Databricks engineer looking for a long-term contract within an established enterprise data environment.
