Senior Data Engineer Microsoft Azure data

In this role you will help build and scale AI/ML solutions on Azure as part of a dedicated Centre of Excellence. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver greenfield AI initiatives and advanced language-model applications. The position offers hybrid flexibility across London or Glasgow and a clear path to impact through Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services and ML tooling. This is a hands-on role for shaping cutting-edge AI in a growing STEM-focused business.

• Develop and deploy AI/ML systems on Azure, including OpenAI-based solutions and Azure ML components.
• Contribute to greenfield projects and build from scratch in a fast-paced environment.
• Leverage tools like LangChain, Hugging Face and PyTorch to implement advanced AI capabilities.
• Work with the team to design prompts, manage vector databases, and optimize multi-agent interactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into new or existing platforms, such as a major sales portal investment.

• Proven experience building AI/ML systems with Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services and Azure Machine Learning.
• Strong Python skills; experience with other languages (C#, Java) is a plus.
• Familiarity with LangChain, Hugging Face, PyTorch; deep understanding of LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, and multi-agent systems.
• Passion for greenfield development and ability to work onsite in London region about one day per week (onsite requirement).
