The Qualifications We Seek

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, including Azure Synapse
• At least 2 years of hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience, including the successful delivery of at least one end-to-end implementation project
• Proven experience in data migration and modernization projects, particularly from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric components, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Notebooks, Dataflows, and Semantic Models
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and T-SQL development, optimisation, and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with Python and Spark for data processing and transformation
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, dimensional modelling, workflow orchestration, and production support
• Experience in Power BI data architecture, reusable Semantic Models, and curated datasets for enterprise analytics and reporting
• Strong knowledge of data quality management, validation, reconciliation, monitoring, data lineage, metadata, and governed data access controls
• Experience in Microsoft Fabric administration, including workspace management, capacity allocation, security configuration, and performance optimisation
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps, source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices
• Familiarity with Jira for project coordination and agile development workflows
• Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot Studio and AI-assisted coding tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Experience with regulated financial data, financial reporting, debt capital markets, loan administration, or related financial services environments
• Background in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), finance operations, or related financial functions
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Fabric data agents, Azure AI services, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or related enterprise AI capabilities
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, data cataloguing, master data management, and enterprise data quality frameworks
• Experience with machine learning, advanced analytics, or AI techniques for data quality, anomaly detection, and operational automation
• Understanding of cost-efficient Microsoft Fabric solution design and resource optimization

Your Daily Tasks

• Microsoft Fabric Migration and Modernisation: Support the migration and modernisation of data pipelines, storage environments, and reporting workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.
• Data Engineering and Platform Development: Develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric Data Factory pipelines, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Notebooks, Dataflows, and reusable data products.
• Data Architecture: Implement scalable data architectures and engineering patterns, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
• SQL Development and Optimisation: Develop, optimise, and troubleshoot SQL and T-SQL queries across data pipelines, transformations, warehouses, and reporting solutions.
• Semantic Modelling and Business Intelligence: Design and maintain governed Semantic Models and curated datasets for Power BI and downstream analytics consumers.
• Data Quality and Governance: Implement data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and lineage processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
• Automation and AI Enablement: Support intelligent automation, AI-driven data quality controls, and governed AI use cases through trusted enterprise data.
• Microsoft Fabric Administration: Support workspace administration, capacity management, deployment processes, gateway configuration, performance monitoring, and optimisation.
• Data Security and Access Management: Implement and maintain role-based access controls, row-level security, and appropriate data access permissions.
• DevOps and Release Management: Contribute to source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and controlled deployments through Azure DevOps.
• Operational Support and Documentation: Monitor platform performance, investigate technical issues, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Solution Delivery: Translate business and reporting requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable data solutions.
