Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software/data engineering or data science.
  • Deep expertise in at least one key domain (Data Engineering, Data Science, Cloud Engineering, or GenAI).

  • For relevant tracks, experience building solutions with LLMs and a deep understanding of the overall GenAI landscape (evaluation, training, problem decomposition).
  • Nice to have: extensive experience in data‑related consulting, working on data strategy, architecture design and implementation of large‑scale data solutions following client requirements.

Desired Mindset and Skills

  • Engineering mindset focused on delivering working solutions; prioritise solving real business problems over theoretical perfection or academic benchmarks.
  • Impact‑driven problem solver eager to dive into complex client challenges, craft solutions and see direct impact on their success.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives; able to collaborate efficiently with both technical engineers and non‑technical business stakeholders up to C‑level.
  • Sense of ownership over the company’s technical reputation and willingness to train colleagues.

Technical Essentials

  • Proficiency with Python and/or PySpark.
  • Proficiency in Palantir Foundry (nice‑to‑have).
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related engineering fields.
  • Willingness to travel (min 10%) to client sites to drive implementation success and build relationships.
  • A desire to drive thought leadership (LinkedIn, blogs) and participate in opening our Canadian office and expanding our strategy and brand.
  • Strong client‑facing skills: comfortable interacting with business and technical clients, giving presentations and possessing a strong problem‑solving mindset.

Location

Applicants located in Montreal, QC, Canada or willing to relocate.

Benefits

  • High‑stakes work: you will work on critical projects that transform how major industries operate.
  • A “Builder” culture: we build things that work rather than slide‑decks; surrounded by engineers and data scientists who share your passion for execution.
  • Pioneering role and autonomy: as a key member of our growth in Canada, you will shape how we deliver value in this new market.
  • Groundbreaking opportunity: pivotal role in establishing Unit8’s footprint in Canada.
  • Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience and skills.
