Senior Data Engineer
Summary
Senior Data Engineer builds and maintains data pipelines and models for a fintech platform, migrating legacy systems to Databricks and PySpark while ensuring regulatory compliance and delivering analytics dashboards.
This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, and you will join our Customer Rating & Analytics team (CRA) which is part of the regulatory Reporting Solutions (RS) domain. For almost two decades CRA has developed systems that assist the banks in ensuring compliance throughout their credit journey. This includes Customer Rating data, Customer Accountings and Rating models.
The position as Senior Data Engineer offers a unique opportunity to join us in supporting the existing systems and be a part of the next steps in our evolution by:
- Enable the Data Tech Transformation by delivering relevant and accurate Data Products
- Building a new and converged Overdraft management solution
The team is co-located in Roskilde, Denmark and Warsaw, Poland. so occasional trips to Denmark to meet the team and plan activities may be part of the role.
Your direct manager will be Jan Vilhelmsen.
Primary tasks and responsibilities include:
- Participate and act as a technical mentor in the tech transformation of existing solutions from legacy Data Warehouse based on Netezza/Informatica to a Databricks based platform
- Develop effective end-to-end data processing flows, including various data processing steps that include and are not limited to acquisition, cleansing, integration/ consolidation, transformation and delivery/exposure
- Support the development of User Interfaces (i.e. Dashboards, reports or other forms of data visualization) enabling delivery of actionable insights for the end users in close collaboration with Business Analyst possessing the most up-to date knowledge and experience on needs and requirements
- Ensure timely delivery of housekeeping and maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with the team architect, data engineers, business analysts and software developers in and outside of the Reporting Solutions domain
To succeed you will have:
- Several years of proven experience as data engineer in the financial industry across the whole development and operations cycle.
- 5-10 years of knowledge in data modelling
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Databricks and Pyspark
- 3-5 years experience in working with theData Vault concept
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience with Informatica Powercenter creating EtL solutions
- 5-10 years hands-on experience in writing and optimizing SQL (SQLserver preferred)
- Experience with Metadata-driven automation
- Experience with Data contracts and governance
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Python
