What you’ll do

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines to process large volumes of data efficiently, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions.
  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data across various sources.
  • Optimize existing data workflows and processes for performance improvements, reducing latency and increasing throughput.
  • Build and maintain data models that support analytics and reporting requirements, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives.
  • Work with cloud-based data storage solutions, such as AWS or Google Cloud, to manage and scale data infrastructure effectively.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL, with experience in data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes, with hands-on experience in tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of database systems, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their data services, including data lakes and data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices, with the ability to design efficient data structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
