Summary

Senior Data Engineer on a 12+12-month contract for a Federal Government client, responsible for hands-on development, data modelling, ETL processes, and technical leadership across enterprise data warehouses using AWS, SQL, and Python.

Salary: $130 - $150 per hour (inc super)

  • QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW. WFH hybrid
  • 12 + 12-month contract (NV1 security clearance required)
  • Cloud technologies: AWS, S3, Glue, or equivalent platforms

Our client, a Federal Government entity is seeking Senior Data Engineers.

About the role - Senior Data Engineers

The role is responsible for hands-on development, technical design, data modelling, code review, and implementation activities across enterprise data platforms.

Duties - Senior Data Engineers

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data delivery teams through design reviews, technical advice, and implementation best practices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data integration solutions, ETL processes, and analytical datasets.
  • Lead the technical implementation of new data assets from analysis and design through to deployment and operational support.

Skills / Experience - Senior Data Engineers

  • Demonstrated experience developing, auditing, reviewing, and supporting solutions within enterprise data warehouse platforms such as MS SQL, Teradata, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, or equivalent technologies.
  • Advanced programming capability, including strong experience with SQL and one or more languages such as Python, SAS, R, or Java.
  • Strong expertise in SQL development, optimisation, troubleshooting, and reverse engineering existing code.
