Senior Data Engineer
Summary
Designs, maintains, and optimizes data pipelines for healthcare claims/membership data in Snowflake, ensuring data quality and timeliness while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the upkeep and maintenance of the data pipeline, focusing on payer data health and timeliness
- Ingest and standardize member rosters and claims data from payers
- Make architectural decisions regarding database, schema design, and Snowflake environment structure
- Administer Snowflake infrastructure, including provisioning and access management
- Develop and maintain reliable data pipelines with appropriate monitoring and alerting
- Oversee the Git environment, including repository and permissions management
- Partner with Finance and Payer Account Management to align on data needs and definitions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional data engineering experience
- Healthcare industry experience with claims and membership data
- Demonstrated hands‑on expertise with Dagster
- Expert‑level proficiency in Python
- Extensive experience with Snowflake schema design and performance optimization
- Strong SQL skills and data warehousing fundamentals
- Git administration experience
- Ability to lead and mentor other engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
- Salesforce development experience
- Proficiency with VS Code or comparable development tooling
- Experience using AI coding assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot
