Lead the design and evolution of modern cloud data platforms
Working within a collaborative team of Data Engineers, Developers and Analysts, you'll provide technical leadership across the full data lifecycle. This is a hands-on senior role where you'll design and build scalable data platforms, optimise existing solutions, mentor team members, and help shape best practices for data engineering across the organisation.

- Play a key role in a large-scale data platform modernisation programme

Working within a collaborative team of Data Engineers, Developers and Analysts, you'll provide technical leadership across the full data lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain complex data engineering solutions and data pipelines
- Develop cloud-based data platforms and products with a focus on scalability, security and cost optimisation
- Create and maintain data integration and transformation processes using modern cloud technologies
- Develop high-quality Python applications, reusable components and automated data solutions
- Lead code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
- Monitor, optimise and enhance existing data pipelines and platform performance
- Design and implement dimensional data models and database solutions
- Lead the selection and adoption of data engineering tools, technologies and methodologies
- Contribute to data governance, security, architecture and compliance standards
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to other engineers within the team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
You'll be an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a passion for building modern, scalable data platforms and a track record of delivering complex data solutions.
You'll bring:
- Strong experience designing and building enterprise-scale data platforms
- Expertise with Databricks, Azure Data Factory and the wider Azure data ecosystem (Snowflake and Fabric are also valuable)
- Advanced SQL and database design skills
- Strong Python development experience
- Experience with dimensional data modelling and data warehousing principles
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, security and governance practices
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
