Technical Support & Data Integration Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly technical and versatile Technical Support & Data Integration Engineer to support our growing cloud-based data and analytics platform and expanding customer base.

This is not a traditional help desk role. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working across multiple technologies, and quickly learning new systems. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, networking, databases, APIs, and integrations.

You will play a critical role in customer onboarding, platform operations, data integration support, and technical issue resolution while helping improve automation, documentation, and support processes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Incident Management

• Establish and operate a structured technical support function for customers and internal teams.
• Own, triage, prioritize, and resolve incoming technical support requests.
• Investigate issues across:
• Databases
• Cloud infrastructure
• Networking
• APIs
• Applications
• Coordinate escalations with engineering and other technical teams when necessary.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding issue status, root cause, resolution, and next steps.

Data Integration & Customer Onboarding

• Support onboarding of new customers onto the data platform.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Fivetran connectors and data pipelines.
• Diagnose and resolve:
• Source connectivity issues
• Synchronization failures
• CDC (Change Data Capture) issues
• Data ingestion and transformation problems
• Validate successful operation of data pipelines and integrations in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Provide operational support for environments hosted in AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and connectivity issues involving:
• VPCs and VNets
• Security Groups and Network Security Rules
• VPNs
• DNS
• Firewalls
• Virtual Machines
• RDS
• Monitoring and logging platforms
• Use scripting and automation to streamline support operations and reduce recurring issues.
• Develop diagnostic tools and utilities using:
• Python
• PowerShell
• Bash
• SQL
• REST APIs
• Create and maintain:
• Runbooks
• Knowledge base articles
• Identify patterns in support requests and drive permanent solutions through automation and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting cloud-based data platforms, integration environments, or technical SaaS products.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across complex technical environments.
• Proven ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and investigate problems independently.
• Experience working with:
• Databases and SQL
• APIs and integrations
• Cloud infrastructure
• Networking concepts
• Hands-on scripting experience with one or more of:
• Python
• PowerShell
• Bash
• SQL
• Experience supporting AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong customer communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance independent problem-solving with appropriate escalation to engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Fivetran.
• Experience supporting modern ELT/ETL platforms and data integration tools.
• Familiarity with:
• Snowflake
• Qlik
• Docker
• Git
• Exposure to data warehousing, analytics, or business intelligence environments.
• Experience working in SaaS, data, or cloud-native technology companies.
• Interest in AI-assisted tooling, automation, and modern engineering practices.
