Senior Data Engineer
Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms using Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and Python. This hands-on role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, architecture, and analytics capabilities.

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a meaningful and interesting product company in Helsinki, working on technology that has a real impact and sits at the heart of the business.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys building scalable data solutions, improving data platforms and working closely with developers, analysts and business stakeholders.
The Role
You’ll be involved in designing, building and maintaining modern data pipelines and platforms, with a strong focus on Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Building and maintaining data platforms across Microsoft Azure.
- Working with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Lake.
- Developing data models and data warehouse/lakehouse solutions.
- Using SQL and Python for data processing and automation.
- Integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Improving data quality, performance, security and reliability.
- Working closely with BI, software engineering and business teams.
- Contributing to data architecture and technical decisions.
- Supporting the development of modern analytics and AI capabilities.
- Helping establish engineering best practices around CI/CD and testing.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong professional experience as a Data Engineer.
- Solid experience with Azure data technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Good understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT and data warehousing.
- Experience with cloud-based data lakes and lakehouses.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD.
- Understanding of data governance, security and data quality.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Fluent English; Finnish would be advantageous.
