Senior Data Engineer
Summary
Senior Data Engineer in Tashkent who builds, maintains, and optimizes ETL pipelines and data integrations, writes complex SQL/PL/pgSQL (stored procedures, tuning, execution plans), and works across PostgreSQL, Databricks, Azure, and Power BI. Needs 4+ years in ETL/data engineering and B2+ English.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL processes and data integration workflows
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and enhance existing ETL mappings, transformation logic, and data pipelines
- Design and develop complex SQL and PL/pgSQL solutions, including stored procedures, functions, and advanced data transformations
- Perform query optimization, execution plan analysis, and database performance tuning
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across integrated systems
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into efficient data solutions
- Support data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives
- 4+ years of experience in ETL development or Data Engineering
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, SSIS, Talend, ODI, Pentaho, or similar platforms
- Strong experience with Python and SQL
- Deep practical experience with PostgreSQL, Databricks, Azure, Power BI
- Strong knowledge of PL/pgSQL, including development of large stored procedures, functions, dynamic SQL, temporary tables, CTEs, and window functions
- Experience analyzing execution plans and performing SQL performance tuning as part of regular development activities
- English level B2+ with the ability to communicate effectively with English-speaking stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Experience with Greenplum or other MPP databases such as Vertica, Teradata, Netezza, or Amazon Redshift
