We are hiring a Senior Data Governance and MDM Specialist, on site in Muscat, to make a national platform's data governed, trusted, and compliant.
What you'll do
Operationalize data governance, the catalog, lineage, master data, quality, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Operationalize the data governance framework across a polyglot, multitenant data estate
- Run the data catalog, lineage, and business glossary, with clear, agreed definitions
- Define and steward master data and golden records through master data management (MDM)
- Set data quality rules, monitor them, and drive remediation of bad data
- Implement data classification, retention, and automated right to erasure aligned to data protection law
- Establish the data ownership and stewardship operating model across teams and entities
- Manage metadata, and make data discoverable and well understood
- Partner with the data architect, business intelligence, and security and compliance, and run governance forums
What makes you a fit
- You have run data governance, MDM, or data quality at enterprise scale, in practice not just on paper
- You know cataloging, lineage, and business glossaries, and you make definitions stick
- You have built master data and golden records, and resolved real data quality problems
- You understand classification, retention, and privacy, and how to enforce them
- You can stand up a stewardship operating model, and get people to own their data
- You hold a Bachelor's or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- You translate regulation and policy into governance that actually holds
- Bonus points for government, regulated, or privacy heavy data environments
- Fluent English required; Arabic is a valuable advantage
