About the program
Hope IT Consulting is recruiting two senior data professionals for an enterprise data-governance and cloud data-platform uplift at a leading Sydney university:
1. Senior Data Modeller
2. Data Architect
These are two separate positions. Applications will be assessed against the position most closely aligned with each candidate’s experience.
Position 1 — Senior Data Modeller
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Modeller with strong enterprise data-governance experience.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical enterprise data models using ERWIN
• Create dimensional models, including star schemas, and enterprise 3NF models
• Define and document Critical Data Elements, business definitions, relationships and data classifications
• Work with data architects, engineers, governance teams and business stakeholders to develop consistent enterprise data models
• Support metadata management, data cataloguing, lineage and governance activities
• Review existing models and recommend improvements to quality, consistency and reusability
• Prepare modelling standards, documentation and artefacts for governance review
Essential experience
• At least five years of relevant data-modelling experience
• Strong hands-on ERWIN experience
• Demonstrated conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
• Strong dimensional and 3NF modelling experience
• Experience with Critical Data Elements, metadata, lineage and enterprise data governance.
Position 2 — Data Architect
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to establish and govern enterprise conceptual data architecture.
Key responsibilities
• Author and govern enterprise Conceptual Data Objects, including business definitions, relationships, classifications and worked examples
• Develop conceptual data architecture aligned with business capabilities and processes
• Define non-functional data requirements, including availability, lifecycle, retention, sensitivity, security and ownership
• Map enterprise data objects to business processes, systems, data owners and stewards
• Establish data-architecture principles, standards and reusable patterns
• Prepare and present submissions to architecture and data-governance forums
• Work closely with business SMEs, data stewards, governance teams, architects and engineering teams
• Support enterprise data-platform and governance uplift activities
Essential experience
• At least five years of relevant data-architecture experience
• Demonstrated enterprise conceptual data-architecture experience
• Strong experience defining enterprise data objects, business definitions and relationships
• Strong enterprise data-governance background
• Experience working with architecture review and data-governance forums
• Understanding of metadata, lineage, ownership, data quality, retention and information sensitivity
