Job Description

The Senior Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of the organization’s enterprise data platform. This role plays a key part in building scalable data infrastructure, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Scope of Work and Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines and data lake/warehouse architectures.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency in cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
  • Lead the adoption of modern data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Databricks, Azure Data Factory).
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and reliability issues.
  • Collaborate with product delivery teams and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum and Kanban events.
  • Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions.
  • Apply best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in analytics engineering and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications (Education & Work Experience)

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Relevant Experience and Other Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of experience in platform engineering or software engineering roles.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in architecture, design, and development of integrated systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience developing microservices for data integration using TypeScript or Python.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and modern data warehousing solutions such as Databricks.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Services and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
  • Certifications in Secure Coding, Scrum, or DevOps are a plus.
  • Experience working in teams of five (5) or more members.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
