Senior Data Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of complex data and cloud initiatives. The role will coordinate business and technical teams, manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and ensure successful delivery of high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, resources, and success criteria.
• Manage end-to-end data project delivery across requirements, data sourcing, ETL/ELT, modelling, testing, deployment, and production handover.
• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, data scientists, architects, infrastructure teams, and management.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, project dependencies, risks, issues, scope changes, and delivery blockers.
• Coordinate project teams and facilitate Agile/Scrum activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure appropriate data governance, data quality, validation, data lineage, security, and compliance requirements are addressed.
• Oversee testing activities including data validation, transformation logic, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Track project costs, resource utilisation, and vendor/contractor deliverables.
• Maintain key project documentation, status reporting, risk registers, and management updates.
• Oversee production deployment, data migration, cutover, rollback planning, and change management.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews and measure project outcomes against agreed KPIs.

Requirements:

• Strong experience managing data engineering, data platform, data warehouse, analytics, or cloud projects.
• Good technical understanding of GCP and/or AWS cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with PySpark/Scala data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, metadata management, data lineage, and scheduling platforms.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum or Kanban delivery environments.
• Strong project planning, risk management, budget management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively between technical and business teams and make informed delivery trade-off decisions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Preferred:

• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud migration or modern data platform initiatives is preferred.
