You'll be joining the Data & Decision Sciences (DDS) team at the heart of Bauer Media Audio. We partner with teams across Digital Media, Revenue Management, Marketing and Consumer Promotions to turn data into actionable insights that drive audience growth, commercial performance and better decision-making.

Working across nine European markets, we're building a modern data capability that combines analytics, experimentation and machine learning to create real business impact.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll play a key role in shaping how Bauer uses data to grow audiences, optimise revenue and improve customer experiences. Working on challenges ranging from predictive modelling and experimentation to personalisation and decision science, you'll turn complex data into practical solutions that influence business outcomes.

This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial impact, helping build the next generation of data products and capabilities within a leading European media business.

Your Role

You'll lead and contribute to end-to-end data science projects, partnering with teams across the business to deliver actionable insights and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building and deploying predictive models to drive audience engagement, retention and revenue growth
  • Designing and implementing experiments, A/B tests and advanced analytics frameworks
  • Working closely with stakeholders across Digital Media, Revenue Management and Consumer Promotions
  • Translating business challenges into data-driven solutions
  • Collaborating with analytics, product and engineering teams to develop and deploy models
  • Championing best practice in data science, experimentation and model development
  • Mentoring junior team members and helping develop team capability
  • Evaluating new tools, technologies and approaches that can enhance business performance
  • Communicating insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

The Skills You Will Bring

Essential:

  • Strong experience in a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist role, with a proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills
  • Expertise using modern machine learning and statistical modelling frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost and similar tools
  • Experience building, deploying and maintaining predictive models in production environments
  • Strong understanding of experimentation, A/B testing, causal inference and advanced statistical techniques
  • Experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or equivalent
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making through data
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical excellence with business impact
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity in fast-paced environments
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior team members

Desirable:

  • Experience within Digital Media, Revenue Management, Gaming, Gambling or Consumer Competitions
  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, Git or similar tools
  • Exposure to personalisation, recommendation engines or marketing technology platforms
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, Braze, Adswizz, Rudderstack or Covatic
