Tasks You take ownership of the stochastic optimization behindordering and inventory policy in a growing AI scale-up for the retailsector and model newsvendor tradeoffs for production use You bringconstraint and mathematical programming into live operation and helpbuild the inventory simulator and the ordering framework Youcontinuously advance the automated ordering system and safeguardend-to-end pipeline quality, from data quality through to the liveorder recommendation You own the monitoring of your models inproduction and ensure robust, transparent results You writeproduction-ready code in Python and SQL on a modern cloud and datastack (GCP with BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI; dbt, Airflow/CloudComposer, Git, CI/CD) You use agentic AI coding tools such as ClaudeCode and Cursor in your daily work You collaborate closely withEngineering, Product, Sales and Customer Operations every day and takeon technical ownership early as part of a central data science teamProfile You have a genuine operations research background You arestrong in stochastic optimization, in ordering and replenishmentpolicy, newsvendor tradeoffs as well as constraint or mathematicalprogramming You have demonstrably brought these methods intoproduction and not only applied them in research You hold a completedmaster's degree in a quantitative field (a PhD is welcome) You commandPython and SQL at production level You are confident working with amodern cloud and data stack, ideally GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, VertexAI), dbt and Airflow/Cloud Composer You ideally bring experience fromsupply chain, demand planning or the field of perishable goods Youideally bring experience from a startup or scale-up environment Youhave fluent English as your working language; German is not requiredBenefits You receive an attractive compensation package includingequity participation (VSOP) Home-Office possibilities 30 vacation daysYou receive individual relocation support if you are moving to BerlinContakt Further details apart from the job description as well asinformation about the company are available during the applicationprocess.
