Senior Data Scientist (They/She/He) – (Hybrid)
Summary
Senior Data Scientist at eDreams ODIGEO (Barcelona, hybrid) designing and delivering machine learning solutions such as fraud detection, recommendations, personalisation and travel/marketing optimisation. Core stack includes Python, open-source ML frameworks, MLOps practices and cloud platforms, with mentoring of other data scientists.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to design and implement advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that improve customer experiences and business outcomes.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Work with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to create value and drive growth for customers and the business
- Design and implement advanced analytics and machine learning solutions across areas such as fraud detection, recommendation engines, user experience personalisation, travel-plan optimisation, and marketing optimisation
- Take ownership of initiatives from initial definition through successful delivery and final outcomes
- Provide clear visibility into initiatives, progress, and outcomes for the team and stakeholders
- Advise and influence stakeholders on the best course of action
- Explore new ideas, approaches, technologies, and algorithms to identify the right solution for each problem
- Keep up to date with advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Lead and mentor data scientists
- Promote the effective use of machine learning and artificial intelligence across the organisation
- Contribute to a friendly, collaborative, and respectful working environment
🛠️ Requirements
- Degree in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist, AI Specialist, Machine Learning Engineer, or in a similar role
- Solid understanding of relevant statistical, data processing, and machine learning methods
- Practical experience implementing machine learning methods with standard open-source frameworks
- Experience building production-ready machine learning solutions and applying MLOps practices
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience with cloud platforms and scalable solutions
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
➕ Nice to have
- Experience with additional programming languages
- Experience creating solutions powered by Generative AI, particularly Large Language Models
- Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain
