Description
Develop AI and machine learning solutions for construction industry use cases, including GPT-based applications on structured and unstructured construction data, computer vision for object detection on 2D drawings and 3D BIM models, and statistical frameworks for predicting site losses, win/loss opportunities, and quantity requirements for similar sites. The role focuses on building scalable, production-ready solutions that improve construction operations through automation, predictive analytics, and close collaboration with business and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Think strategically and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business use cases and design scalable technical solutions.
- Analyze construction project data and develop predictive models using traditional data science methods and generative AI.
- Apply machine learning algorithms to improve key processes such as project execution, safety, and risk assessment.
- Design, lead, and own end-to-end development of predictive and machine learning models, from hypothesis generation to deployment and monitoring.
- Build, validate, and optimize machine learning and statistical models using best-in-class techniques.
- Review and quality-check models developed by junior data scientists and machine learning engineers.
- Work closely with engineering and business teams to understand data, business terminology, and processes, and create and implement appropriate solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in data science and machine learning to better leverage company data.
- Use statistical techniques to detect anomalies and optimize operational workflows.
- Collaborate with product managers and business leaders to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Visualize insights using business intelligence tools where needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years in data science, machine learning, and analytics, with a proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
- Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to contribute hands-on to production or project work as required.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Proficiency in machine learning, AI, and statistics frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Strong experience in predictive analytics, clustering, classification, regression, and multivariate techniques.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure or AWS.
- Strong understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
Nice To Have:
- Experience working with construction-related data or similar industries such as engineering or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Azure ML Services and Snowflake.
- Knowledge of natural language processing and computer vision.
