Senior Data Steward

Summary

Support banking project data governance, quality, and compliance using SQL, data warehousing knowledge, and tools like JIRA and Confluence.

We are looking for an experienced Data Steward to join a banking project focused on data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in improving regulatory reporting, resolving data quality issues, maintaining business glossaries, implementing data quality controls, and supporting BCBS239 initiatives, including data lineage definition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support data governance and data management activities across regulatory reporting processes
  • Identify, analyze, and help resolve data quality issues
  • Maintain and improve business glossaries and data definitions
  • Implement and monitor data quality controls
  • Define and document data lineage across relevant systems and reporting flows
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Contribute to compliance with BCBS239 and internal data governance standards

Requirements

  • Experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Understanding of data warehousing and reporting
  • Knowledge of database structures
  • Experience with MS Office, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
