(Senior) Database Administrator - DBA (Asia-pacific Centre)
Summary
Senior Database Administrator manages, optimizes, and secures databases for an Asia-Pacific team, ensuring high availability and performance of core database systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide database support for Oracle, GaussDB, MSSQL and Mysql databases within Linux and Wintel environment.
- Undertake DBA role to manage all databases, including database patching, upgrade, performance tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery.
- Provide technical assistance to the application team for project development.
- Install and configure various Oracle database products and HA solutions, including Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard and GaussDB.
- Perform development using PL/SQL, Unix scripts & JAVA.
- Perform system administration & monitoring on Linux & Windows servers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ year proven experience in Oracle database administration and support is preferred.
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical information effectively.
- Good command of Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) and English is necessary.
- Experience working with financial industry and understand the technical architecture of banking systems is preferred.
