Senior Database Administrator

Job Description Must have: Role Summary Info: L2 Database Administrator with hands-on experience in managing cloud and hybrid database environments across AWS and Microsoft Azure, along with on-premise MS SQL Server. The role involves database provisioning, access management, maintenance, performance tuning, patching, and production support to ensure secure, highly available, and optimized database systems. Required Skills & Experience Must Have 35 years of experience as a Database Administrator Must Have Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, and MongoDB Must Have Experience working in AWS and Azure cloud environments Must Have Strong understanding of backup, recovery, performance tuning, and database security Must Have Experience working in L2 production support roles Soft Skills Must Have Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Must Have Ability to handle production issues under pressure Must Have Good communication and coordination skills Must Have Willingness to participate in on-call and support rotations Nice to Have Good to have Experience with high availability and DR setups Key Responsibilities Database Administration & Operations: Must Have Create, configure, and manage databases across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments Must Have Implement user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and privilege management Must Have Ensure availability, reliability, and security of databases Must Have Perform routine maintenance such as index management, statistics updates, and space management Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Must Have Monitor database health, performance, and capacity Must Have Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Must Have Optimize SQL/NoSQL queries and execution plans Must Have Patching, Upgrades & Compliance: Must Have Perform database patching and version upgrades Must Have Support security, audit, and compliance requirements Backup, Recovery & DR: Must Have Manage backups, restores, and recovery scenarios Must Have Support DR drills and RPO/RTO requirements Production Support: Must Have Act as L2 support for production database issues Must Have Perform root cause analysis and permanent fixes Must Have Coordinate with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams Databases & Platforms in Scope Must Have AWS PostgreSQL (RDS / managed PostgreSQL) Must Have Microsoft SQL Server (On-Premises) Must Have Azure SQL Database Must Have MongoDB (cloud-hosted or self-managed)
