Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Overview

iCareManager is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Power BI, along with hands-on experience in database performance tuning, High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR), and cloud-based database environments.

This role requires someone who can manage mission-critical databases, ensure high performance and availability, and support reporting and analytics initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL database environments

  • Configure and support Always On Availability Groups and HADR solutions

  • Perform database backup, recovery, maintenance, and disaster recovery planning

  • Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing strategies

  • Manage SQL Server hosted on Virtual Machines (Dedicated Host) and Azure SQL Managed Instance

  • Develop and maintain SSRS and Power BI reports and dashboards

  • Support database migrations, upgrades, and patch management activities

  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and analytics teams to support business requirements

  • Monitor database security, integrity, and availability

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance issues

  • Assist in ETL processes and data warehousing initiatives


Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with:

    • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022

    • Azure SQL Managed Instance

    • PostgreSQL

    • BigQuery Analytics

    • Power BI

  • Hands-on expertise in:

    • HADR / Always On Availability Groups

    • Listener configuration

    • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

    • Query optimization and performance tuning

    • Database backup and recovery

    • Power BI reporting and analytics

    • Database migration and upgrades

  • Good understanding of:

    • Azure infrastructure and services

    • Windows Server administration

    • ETL processes

    • Data warehousing concepts

    • PowerShell scripting (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing production-scale database environments

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities

  • Experience working in cloud-based infrastructure environments

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
