We are currently looking for a Senior Database Engineer to join our project.

About the project

Our client operates in the commercial real estate and asset management industry. The project focuses on the modernization and maintenance of a business-critical legacy system built on a technology stack that is approaching end of support.

The primary objective is to stabilize the environment, upgrade key infrastructure components to supported versions, and prepare the platform for future transformation initiatives. This is a long-term project delivered for one of our trusted clients.

Your responsibilities

• Support the technical upgrade and replatforming of the client's Coda environment

• Analyze the existing technology landscape, including Coda v12, Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2012, and Apache Tomcat v7

• Prepare or support the creation of a test environment

• Perform SQL Server migration and upgrade activities while validating application functionality

• Verify SSRS reports and custom database objects

• Troubleshoot issues related to databases, applications, and Windows servers

• Support infrastructure modernization activities ahead of end-of-support deadlines

• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition to a modernized environment

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (preferably SQL Server 2012 or newer)

• Experience with SQL Server migrations and upgrades

• Solid knowledge of:

  • Backup & Restore

  • Database Compatibility Levels

  • Performance Tuning

  • Stored Procedures, Views, Jobs, and Indexes

  • SQL Server Agent

  • Linked Servers

  • Database Security and Permissions

• Experience working with Windows Server 2012 or newer

• Experience supporting and maintaining legacy Windows-based applications

• Knowledge of Apache Tomcat v7 and Java Runtime Environment is a strong advantage

• Experience troubleshooting web applications

• Good understanding of certificates, connectivity, firewalls, and service accounts

• Experience with Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage, and backup solutions

• Nice to have:

  • Azure Monitoring

  • Dynamics 365
