Senior Databricks Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Databricks Engineer to lead the architecture, optimization, and delivery of enterprise-scale lakehouse solutions. This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical depth and leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise data platforms using Databricks Lakehouse architecture
- Lead migration of legacy data warehouses to modern cloud environments
- Build scalable pipelines with Apache Spark and Delta Lake
- Implement governance and security using Unity Catalog
- Tune cluster performance and optimize cost efficiency
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical designs
- Work directly with stakeholders and business leaders
Requirements:
- 5+ years in data engineering / cloud analytics
- 3+ years of deep experience with Databricks
- Strong Python, SQL, Spark, and distributed processing expertise
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure / Amazon Web Services / Google Cloud
- Experience with lakehouse architecture, governance, CI/CD
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Preferred:
- Databricks Professional certification
- Team leadership experience
- Migration/modernization project background
