Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior Designer - Offshore Structural, reporting directly to HOD – Offshore Structural to join our Offshore Structural team based in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee and manage the responsibilities below.

The Offshore Structural Designer is responsible for developing and coordinating offshore structural design and drafting deliverables for oil and gas projects during Concept, FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, Brownfield, and Modification phases. The role involves producing high-quality 2D and 3D structural models, detailed fabrication drawings, and multidisciplinary coordination while ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities Structural Design & Modelling

  • Develop detailed 3D offshore structural models for:
    • Jackets
    • Topsides
    • Deck Structures
    • Flare Towers
    • Bridges
    • Modules
    • Pipe Racks
    • Monopods and Offshore Support Structures
  • Prepare structural layouts, general arrangement drawings, and detailed fabrication drawings.
  • Generate structural steel detailing, connection details, and assembly drawings.
  • Produce material take-offs (MTOs) and weight reports from structural models.
  • Update and maintain structural models throughout project execution.

Drawing Production & Review

  • Prepare and review:
    • General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
    • Structural Plans and Elevations
    • Fabrication and Shop Drawings
    • Assembly Drawings
    • Erection Drawings
    • As-Built Drawings
  • Ensure all drawings comply with project standards and drafting procedures.
  • Perform self-checking and inter-disciplinary checking of design deliverables.

Coordination & Interface Management

  • Coordinate with Structural Engineers to implement design changes and engineering requirements.
  • Interface with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, and Marine disciplines.
  • Participate in model reviews, clash detection sessions, and design review meetings.
  • Coordinate with fabrication yards and construction teams to resolve design and detailing issues.

Project Execution

  • Ensure timely completion of structural design deliverables in accordance with project schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering estimates and man-hour assessments.
  • Support procurement, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation activities.
  • Incorporate client comments and project revisions into engineering deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with:
    • API Standards
    • ISO Standards
    • DNV Standards
    • AISC Codes
    • Client Specifications
  • Adhere to company quality management procedures and engineering best practices.
  • Maintain document control and revision management requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

Languages: English (Fluent)

Main skills:

With 12 to 15 years of experience in FEED, Design & detail engineering of EPCIC Projects of Fixed/Floating Offshore Oil & Gas production/processing facilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications in drafting and design software will be an advantage.
  • 12 to 15 years of experience in offshore structural design and drafting within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects.
  • Experience working on offshore platforms, jackets, topsides, and associated offshore structures.
