Summary

Senior developer (two roles) on Telair's in-house dev team at a Brisbane-based internet service provider: building a Python backend and API services, extending a .NET CRM, and automating nbn wholesale service delivery, carrier integrations, and customer notifications.

About Telair

Telair is a growing national Internet Service Provider headquartered in Brisbane. Our in-house dev team builds and maintains all of our core systems, including our custom-built CRM (.NET), APIs, websites, and customer portals. We're building out a Python backend that ties these together and connects them to nbn and other wholesale carriers, our network, and Microsoft 365. Throughout, we focus on automation and customer self-service so the business can scale without adding headcount.

We're hiring two senior engineers.

The work

Current and upcoming projects include:

  • Automating nbn service delivery, including appointment management for fibre upgrades and an uplift of our trouble ticket integration

  • Automated outage and maintenance notifications for customers

  • Onboarding additional wholesale carriers through their APIs

Most of this is integration-heavy work: unreliable third-party APIs, long-running workflows, and data that has to stay consistent across systems. If you've done this kind of work before, you know where the hard parts are.

The stack, honestly

The CRM is a mature .NET Framework application that the business depends on every day. It works well, and parts of it are due for modernisation. The Python side is newer. You'll have real input into the direction of both, rather than inheriting decisions made by someone who has since left.

How we use AI

We use LLMs and coding agents daily for writing and reviewing code, investigating problems, and documentation. We're expanding our use of agents in development and in our internal tools. We treat these as tools: engineers are accountable for everything they ship, and we value people who can tell when the output is wrong.

The roles

You'll report to the Dev Lead and work as a hands-on individual contributor. You'll take features from design to production and work directly with the network, support, and operations staff who use what you build. There are no layers of product management between you and the people with the problem.

Python

  • Build and extend the customer portal and API services

  • Design and maintain carrier, network, and cloud integrations

  • Build automation and agent-based tooling for operations

.NET

  • Extend and modernise the CRM

  • Build the workflows and integrations that connect the CRM to the rest of the platform

  • Help decide how the CRM evolves over the next few years

What we're looking for

  • Senior-level commercial experience with Python 3 and/or C#/.NET

  • Solid REST API, integration, and relational database experience

  • Comfort working in Linux

  • Sound judgement about trade-offs, and the ability to work independently

  • Experience with AI coding tools

Also useful

  • Django, FastAPI, or Vue

  • Experience modernising legacy .NET Framework systems

  • Salesforce integration

  • Building with LLM APIs, agents, or MCP

  • Telco or networking experience (nbn wholesale, Juniper, NetBox)

  • Docker, CI/CD, Ansible

What we offer

  • Training and conference budgets

  • Ownership of real systems, and a short distance between writing code and seeing its effect

  • A small team where your experience shapes technical decisions

  • Freedom to use, and help choose, modern tooling, including AI

  • In-office in Brisbane, working closely with the team
