We are looking for an experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our engineering team and drive the design, development, and optimization of large-scale distributed systems and data-intensive applications. This role is ideal for professionals with 10–17 years of experience who possess deep expertise in Java and Hadoop technologies and have a proven track record of building highly scalable, reliable, and high-performance enterprise solutions.

As a Senior Development Engineer, you will play a key role in designing robust architectures, solving complex technical challenges, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful products. You should be passionate about distributed computing, big data processing, and writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and distributed computing technologies.
• Build and optimize large-scale data processing pipelines using the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Architect high-performance, fault-tolerant systems capable of handling massive volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize application performance, memory utilization, and system scalability through continuous improvements.
• Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, and services following software engineering best practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and promoting engineering excellence.
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending improvements to existing platforms.

Required Skills

Must-Have Skills

• Strong expertise in Java with extensive experience developing enterprise-grade backend applications.
• Hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, including distributed storage and large-scale data processing.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable backend services.
• Expertise in SQL and database design, along with experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in debugging, profiling, and optimizing high-throughput applications.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and modern CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apache Spark, Hive, Kafka, HBase, or other big data technologies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with distributed messaging systems and stream processing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and high-availability architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10–17 years of professional software development experience, with significant experience in Java-based enterprise applications and Hadoop technologies.
