About the Role
Our client, a prominent fintech company headquartered in Pretoria, is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a specialization in automation. This hybrid role requires a blend of remote flexibility and in-office collaboration at our Pretoria hub. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automating infrastructure provisioning, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our cutting-edge financial platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Automate cloud resource provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment across environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain scripting for automation of operational tasks using Python, Bash, or similar.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability.
- Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the infrastructure and deployment lifecycle.
- Contribute to architectural decisions related to infrastructure and operational tooling.
- Mentor junior team members and promote DevOps best practices within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or Software Engineering with a focus on automation.
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and monitoring tools.
