About the role

Guerilla 360 is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to join an embedded engineering squad supporting an enterprise client in the healthcare benefits sector. The platform runs Java and .NET backend services on Microsoft Azure, and you'll be the technical owner of how that platform is built, deployed, secured, and observed.

This is a senior seat with real authority. You'll set the standards other engineers work to, make the calls on infrastructure and release architecture, and be the person the delivery team looks to when production is unhappy at 2AM. You'll work directly with the solutions architect, backend leads, and the IT delivery manager — not behind a ticket queue.

What you'll do

  • Own the CI/CD architecture end to end — design, build, and continuously improve Azure DevOps pipelines for Java (Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle) and .NET / ASP.NET Core services
  • Lead the design and evolution of the Azure environment: AKS, App Service, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, Application Gateway, ACR, VNets, and API Management
  • Define and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards with Terraform and/or Bicep, including module design, state management, and environment promotion
  • Set release strategy — blue/green, canary, and rollback patterns — and drive deployment frequency up while keeping change failure rate down
  • Design the observability stack: Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics dashboards, SLOs, and actionable alerting that doesn't cry wolf
  • Lead incident response and post-incident reviews; turn findings into permanent fixes rather than runbook entries
  • Own platform security posture — secrets management via Key Vault, identity and RBAC through Entra ID, dependency and container image scanning, and security gates in the pipeline
  • Drive Azure cost visibility and optimization; make right-sizing and reserved-capacity recommendations with numbers behind them
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, run code and pipeline reviews, and raise DevOps maturity across the squad
  • Partner with the solutions architect on non-functional requirements — scalability, availability, disaster recovery, and RTO/RPO targets
  • Document architecture decisions and operational procedures to a standard that survives handover

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years in DevOps, Platform, or Site Reliability Engineering, including time in a lead or senior technical role
  • Deep, hands‑on Microsoft Azure expertise — this is an Azure environment, and we're looking for someone who has designed on it, not just operated it
  • Expert-level Azure DevOps pipeline work (YAML, templates, reusable stages, self-hosted agents, artifact and environment management)
  • Demonstrated experience deploying and operating both Java and .NET workloads in production
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code — Terraform and/or Bicep at a module and multi‑environment scale, with real opinions on structure and state
  • Production Kubernetes experience on AKS — networking, ingress, autoscaling, resource governance, and upgrade strategy
  • Proven track record owning production reliability: on-call, incident command, and measurable improvement in uptime or MTTR
  • Strong scripting and automation in Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python
  • Solid networking and security fundamentals — VNets, NSGs, private endpoints, DNS, TLS, load balancing, zero-trust principles
  • Experience defining branching, versioning, and release governance for multiple teams
  • Excellent English communication — you will present designs and status directly to client stakeholders and defend technical decisions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Microsoft certification — AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert), AZ-104, or AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Experience in healthcare, HMO, insurance, banking, or another regulated environment with audit and data-privacy obligations
  • Experience leading a cloud migration or a monolith‑to‑microservices program
  • Database deployment automation for SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Azure Service Bus, Functions, Event Grid, or Front Door
  • Familiarity with SonarQube, Snyk, Defender for Cloud, or equivalent security tooling
  • FinOps or cloud cost governance experience at scale
  • Exposure to GitHub Actions or Jenkins alongside Azure DevOps

What we offer

  • Senior-level compensation aligned with your experience
  • HMO coverage and government-mandated benefits
  • Hybrid work setup — details discussed during the interview
  • Long-term engagement on a stable enterprise account
  • Genuine technical ownership — you set the platform direction, not just execute someone else's ticket
