Senior DevOps Engineer

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

DevOps Strategy and Team Leadership:

• Understand system requirements and business needs, and define the optimal strategy for DevOps and infrastructure management.
• Plan team priorities and design and feature estimates.
• Lead and mentor the DevOps team; train and enable junior engineers.
• Follow and propagate industry best practices for DevOps and AWS configurations.

CI/CD and Release Engineering:

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform zero-downtime deployments.
• Install and maintain operating environments.

Reliability and Disaster Recovery:

• Plan and implement effective disaster recovery.
• Set up automatic data backups and restoration of production environments and databases.
• Enable effective monitoring to track system health and implement the necessary alerts.

Security, Compliance, and Cost:

• Ensure all security policies are followed for infrastructure access.
• Drive compliance adherence across infrastructure and deployments.
• Review and ensure optimized costs for infrastructure and cloud services.

Requirements:

• Software Engineer with 6+ years of experience.
• Expertise in the AWS cloud platform, provisioning, maintaining, and monitoring EKS, MSK, EC2, S3, and RDS services.
• Knowledge of networking on AWS (VPC, API Gateway, Load Balancers).
• Expertise in deployment tools like Jenkins or Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Proficient in scripting in a popular language like Bash, YAML, JavaScript, or Python.
• Expertise in containerisation using Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Excellent command over source configuration management tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and GitLab.
• Experience with SonarQube, JaCoCo, or similar tools for static code scanning.
• Experience with APM solutions like Prometheus, Amazon CloudWatch, New Relic, or Dynatrace.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
• Good verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills.
