Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

Rasan is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and site reliability to build and operate the platforms behind Rasan's digital products. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical ownership of delivery pipelines, observability, and security practices, ensuring Rasan's fintech and Insurtech platforms are scalable, secure, and highly available.

Job Objectives

· Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure that supports Rasan's digital platforms.

§ Automate build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable software delivery.

§ Ensure platform reliability, performance, and security through strong observability, incident response, and compliance practices.

§ Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and security teams to improve delivery speed and operational excellence, while mentoring fellow engineers.

Job Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Platform

· Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) across production and non-production environments.

· Manage and operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including cluster configuration, scaling, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

· Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning to meet the demands of high-traffic digital platforms.

· Optimize cloud resource usage and cost through monitoring, right-sizing, and governance practices.

CI/CD & Automation

· Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, security scanning, and deployment for multiple services and teams.

· Drive release engineering best practices, including environment promotion, rollbacks, and zero-downtime deployments.

· Automate operational tasks and configuration management through scripting and tooling to reduce manual effort and risk.

· Continuously improve developer experience by standardizing pipelines, templates, and self-service tooling.

Reliability, Observability & Incident Management

· Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting to provide end-to-end visibility into system health and performance.

· Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets in partnership with engineering teams.

· Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews, translating lessons into lasting improvements.

· Participate in on-call rotations and maintain runbooks and operational documentation.

Security & Compliance

· Embed security into pipelines and infrastructure (DevSecOps), including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and access control.

· Apply least-privilege, network segmentation, and hardening practices across cloud and container environments.

· Support compliance with applicable regulatory and information security requirements for financial services and insurance platforms in Saudi Arabia.

· Maintain audit-ready configurations, change records, and infrastructure documentation.

Collaboration & Leadership

· Partner with software engineers, QA, product, and security teams to deliver reliable releases and resolve cross-team technical issues.

· Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, share knowledge, and promote DevOps culture and best practices.

· Evaluate emerging tools and technologies, recommending adoption where they add value to reliability, speed, or cost.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Licenses & Certifications

Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or HashiCorp Terraform certification are a plus.

Previous Work Experience

· Bring 4-6 years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, or cloud infrastructure engineering, including experience in a senior or technical lead capacity.

· Demonstrate experience designing and operating production systems on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

· Demonstrate a track record of building CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure for high-traffic, business-critical applications.

· Bring experience in fintech, Insurtech, or another regulated, fast-paced digital environment as an advantage.

· Experience working in on-premises environments (e.g., bare-metal Kubernetes, virtualization, data center networking) is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

· Demonstrate strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.

· Demonstrate hands-on experience with containers and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.

· Demonstrate strong experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

· Demonstrate strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.

· Demonstrate practical experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.

· Demonstrate a strong understanding of Linux, networking, security fundamentals, and cloud architecture best practices.

· Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

· Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
