Senior devops engineer (cloud automation)

Our client, a rapidly growing Saa S provider, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join their dynamic team in Durban . This role is crucial for enhancing and automating our client's cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and overall system reliability. You will play a key role in optimizing development and deployment processes, ensuring seamless delivery of software solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and testing. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (Ia C) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation. Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Implement and enforce security best practices across the infrastructure and development workflows. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization and scalability. Automate operational tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure system stability. Manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. Participate in on‑call rotations to address production incidents. Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision‑making. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Dev Ops or SRE role. Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Power Shell. Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation). Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Circle CI). Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices. Experience with relational and No SQL databases. Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
